The total solar eclipse is coming. Get ready!
The total solar eclipse is less than a week away and we’re giddy with anticipation for what is sure to be one of the coolest astronomical events EVER in the U.S., brought to us by none other than… science!
For a glorious 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the sun will disappear, leaving a path of total darkness from coast-to-coast, if you happen to be along the path of totality. Even if you’re not, you’ll still be able to experience partial darkness.
What’s the big deal with THIS solar eclipse?
The August 21st solar eclipse is extra special because it will be visible throughout most of the U.S. The entire country will at least see a partial eclipse. The path of totality spans from Oregon to South Carolina and crosses 12 states.
Still wondering what’s with the hype?
This is the Big Kahuna of eclipses. It’s also the first total solar eclipse to appear solely in the U.S. since 1918, which means this is the best chance for millions of Americans to experience this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon first hand.
